Job Description

The Electronic Systems (ES) sector's Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) business area is seeking a Vice President of F-35 Solutions. This role will set and execute a sector-wide strategy for the development and delivery of a suite of world class F-35 electronic warfare capabilities critical to US and Allied strategic national interests.

Reporting to the ECS Vice President and General Manager (VP/GM), the VP, F-35 Solutions, will have full responsibility for profit and loss (P&L) for all aspects of this $1 Billion product line, inclusive of established production, sustainment, and cutting edge modernization and advanced technology programs. The VP will also be the singular executive point of contact for integration of customer-facing F-35 initiatives across ES business areas and with the Air Sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive-level leadership and future-focused vision for all F-35 programs, ensuring exceptional execution of program commitments, strategic objectives, and the delivery of financial commitments to the enterprise while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Develop and execute strategic, multi-year integrated business plans consistent with the goals and objectives of the company, including forecasting and meeting financial objectives. Ensure the product line is adequately resourced to meet plans. Analyze performance measures and take relevant corrective action as necessary in a fast-paced competitive environment.

  • Develop, drive, and execute growth strategies, including capture activities, to expand the business portfolio and advance BAE Systems' role as a leader within the domain.

  • Serve as the key senior-level interface to cultivate a strong relationship with the company's F-35 customer, resolve complex issues, and maintain a high level of customer engagement and satisfaction across the portfolio.

  • Strategic vision and entrepreneurial drive are crucial in shaping our customer base across services and ensuring the strength and focus of our EW capability.

  • Establish collaborative relationships and strategic partnerships within and across the business, as well as with vendors and industry partners. Integrate customer-facing initiatives across the sector and with the Air Sector. Be viewed as an industry leader representing the company in a variety of externally-focused activities.

  • Demonstrate visible leadership to the product line, leading by example and fostering a culture of innovative problem solving, performance excellence, and continuous improvement to deliver affordable, effective, and dependable solutions.

  • Inspirational leadership for the team, providing support, inspiration, and decisive guidance for F-35 program teams.

  • Ability to excel in cultivating robust cross-functional partnerships to bolster our path to success.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline and a minimum of 15 years of experience leading technical and program teams through all phases of the lifecycle on large, complex programs with responsibility for all aspects of program objectives as well as business performance, including experience leading P&L and growth for a portfolio of programs.
  • Experience building and leading large, high-performing teams, including leadership of leaders; strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to achieve results through others and a focus on inclusive leadership.
  • Talent management expertise, attracting, developing and retaining top performers across the product life cycle.
  • Strong business acumen in managing financial performance and proven success identifying growth areas and developing new business strategic plans aligned with the company's growth objectives. Experience leading large and complex, competitive captures is a positive.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and building customer relationships as well as the ability to collaborate within and across organizational boundaries. Experience with the F-35 customer is a positive.
  • Must be a skilled communicator with the ability to influence at executive levels internally and externally and shape the image of a complex organization. Ability to negotiate at a high level with internal and external customers and partners.
  • Expertise is scaling and navigating complex programs ensuring optimal structure and precise execution. Ability to drive transformative change alongside the customer and team
  • Extensive financial acumen with the ability to maintain sharp and reliable contracts and the ability to forecast is paramount. Strengthen our contracts framework and implement restructuring measures as needed for overall strategy.
  • Possesses exemplary risk and opportunity management skills. Thorough knowledge of program management best practices, government contracting, current acquisition trends and customer and competitor behaviors.
  • Must possess and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience leading large technical programs of 500M+ and driving decision making and influencing internal partners and external customers.
  • Programmatic leadership skills including bid authority, proposal excellence, root cause analysis, and return to green initiatives.
  • Proven experience building a robust supply chain with limited points of failure and built in redundancy.
  • Prior experience optimizing and enhancing profit margins in the sustainment phase of the life cycle including logistics and repairs.
