Job Description Looking to build or expand your engineering career? BAE Systems is looking for a full-time Systems Engineer to join our Test and Evaluation team!
Join us in an exciting opportunity to support the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system at the Strategic Missile Integration Complex (SMIC). The SMIC is a world-class Test and Evaluation facility that is used to test nuclear and ballistic missile systems by simulating missile squadrons. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a highly-skilled test and engineering team whose job is to research, upgrade, design, build, and test unique ICBM test equipment and supporting systems.
Key Duties Include:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in solving complex hardware and software engineering problems
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to review requirements, specifications documents, processes, plans, guides, and reports
- Provide technical leadership and coordinate with stakeholders in the development, evaluation, and integration of systems engineering requirements
- Conduct life cycle analyses on critical test equipment unique to the ICBM weapon system
- Conduct obsolescence research and make recommendations to mitigate risks and improve functionality of legacy test equipment
The ICBM System Program Office must ensure a safe, secure, and reliable weapon system as required by the war fighter (Air Force Global Strike Command) through 2040. The position is located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. US citizenship status is required.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS/MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or Physics
- 8 years of progressive experience in systems integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes (6 years with MS degree)
- 2 years of experience leading system design, integration, and analytical efforts
- Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills
- Must also be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Minuteman III Weapon System Experience and/or Weapon System Testing Experience
- Technical experience in product development, system modeling and project management
- Attention to detail, including good time management and organization skills
- Experience creating professional documents, presentations and spreadsheets with MS Office
- Computer programming experience (Python, LabVIEW, VBA, C/C++ )
- Possess a current Secret security clearance or higher
