As an Electronic Systems Section Leader, you will oversee Field Engineering team members deployed both CONUS (Domestic) and OCONUS (International), who work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to field, support test next generation EW and electronic systems. Field Service Engineers deliver innovative Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions, individual technical contributions on a related range of Programs will include cradle to sunset system support, requirements development, integration & test, and test planning and execution in a field deployment environment. We are looking for a motivated and positive minded Field Engineering Section Manager/People Leader to join cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team.

Key Engineering and Section Manager skills, roles, strengths, expertise and objectives are to:

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary Field Engineering team
  • Performs systems engineering functions such as developing and managing requirements, developing operational concepts, performing trade studies, and supporting systems level integration and flight testing
  • Support site leader objectives and provide on-site functional management oversight of a 70+ member project team assuring that financials, schedule, and technical objectives are met and that the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved while meeting all contractual commitments
  • Perform as part of the site Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) leadership team to achieve our customer commitments and growth expectations
  • Partner with Engineering, Logistics and Cyber Security functional leadership to assure the CLS support to the USAF continues to exceed customer commitments.
  • Staff, recruit, retain, train, recognize, develop, and assign team members as appropriate to meet the EOC/CEMA Business Area needs and CLS team objectives including execution and development tasks
  • Functional supervisor for a field engineering team:
    • Provide guidance, support, promote and implement key performance management initiatives including, goal setting, mid-year and annual-review process, promotions, performance plans and organizational changes.
    • Partner with leaders to identify top talent and succession candidates, and support the succession planning process at the business unit level. Mitigate human capital related business risks and support compliance activities. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to translate strategy into an executable plan.
    • Partner with leadership to drive a culture that is diverse, inclusive, and drives ethical behavior, collaborating with leaders to instill a culture of safety & health throughout the organization, including continuous improvement of safety standards. Help drive business success by reviewing and analyzing metrics to monitor performance and identify actionable trends.
    • Develop and Support ES Proposal and Field Engineering Basis of Estimates (BOE), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and resource requirements matrix
    • Ensuring field representatives adhere to BAE Systems' cultural principals, policies, and vision
    • Provide direct support to Business Program and Field Engineering manager(s)

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility or Customer site 100% of the time.

This is a blended engineering and functional manager role with anticipated mix of 80% technical responsibilities and 20% functional manager responsibilities.Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active/Current DoD security clearance (Secret with the ability to attain Top Secret, SCI Eligible)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering related discipline with 8+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Master’s Degree
  • Demonstrated experience with Military Aircraft Maintenance, Logistics, Support Equipment, and Aircraft Integration
  • Knowledge of the Military Deployment Process
  • Experience in effectively documenting, communicating, leading and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations.
  • People management experience with proven performance management, mentoring, coaching, and communication skills
  • Experience with customer/stakeholder communication, management, relationship building, and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation/communication skills
  • Open-minded and flexible in both thought and tactics
  • Operate with a high degree of integrity in dealing with sensitive information
  • Documented experience with presenting material to senior division and program leadership and other government officials
  • Proven experience with analyzing business process or SOP documentation to identify areas of improvement and efficiency

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active/Current DoD security clearance (Top Secret, SCI Eligible)
  • Experience with Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft Maintenance
  • Experience with aircraft design and configuration management
  • Experience communicating with military customers/stakeholders.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose, resolve complex problems and to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $111700 - $189900

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
