(Hybrid) The Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) business is experiencing unprecedented growth. Our state of the art development center in Austin, Texas is the home for our next generation technical solutions. Engineers will provide flight and mission-critical products worldwide to more than 170 commercial and military customers. Engineers will also support securing our sustainable future through products that provide efficient, power management and by developing eco-friendly, hybrid and electric systems. You will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation: Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls, Full Authority Digital Engine Controls, Ground Vehicle Power Management, Aircraft Electrification, Advanced Air Mobility, Autonomous Flight Systems, Flight Deck Systems, Cabin Management Systems, Weapon Controls, and Mission Systems for the world's most prominent commercial and military aircraft and vehicle manufacturers.
As a Principle Systems Engineer your day to day responsibilities will include;
- Leadership opportunities to mentor your team and interface with customers
- Collaborate as an integrated team member with Software, Hardware, Test Equipment, and Manufacturing engineers
- Participate a variety of activities of the project life cycle; bid and proposals, project planning, requirements architecture, requirements development, systems analysis, design reviews, integration and test, and product or system qualification.
- Use existing processes and evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques to minimize both design cost and product cost

Required Skills and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field such as Electrical, Mechanical, and Computer Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in avionics or electronic controls embedded development, including familiarity with systems such as flight controls, engine controls or mission systems.
- Experience in designing, architecting and integrating electronic control systems which include hardware, software and programmable logic devices.
- Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership.

- Master’s Degree in a related engineering field
- 12+ years of experience in avionics or electronic controls embedded development, including familiarity with systems such as flight controls, engine controls or mission systems.
- Experience in a variety of areas of product lifecycle development including system requirements, design, integration, validation, and verification.
- Experience with development of formal validation and verification procedures.
- Experience designing, architecting and integrating electro-mechanical control systems.
- Experience with Multi-core and ARM processing hardware and software design.
- Familiar with safety critical development including ARP4754, DO-178B/C and DO-254 or equivalent stringent process requirements.
- Knowledgeable of commercial and military certification objectives and activities.
- Working knowledge of model based development of systems and/or software.
