Job Description What's a career like at BAE Systems? Remarkable. This is an exciting opportunity for a Shared Services Senior Finance Manager who will be responsible for leading a team that manages the enterprise wide IT allocated, pooled, and overhead costs. The right individual will have a passion for challenging the status quo and driving change that improves how we work and deliver added value.
Responsible for the lifecycle of the IT budgets and Forward Pricing in accordance with government compliance requirements and maintains high levels of customer support across a broad scope of stakeholders. Interprets and reports financial performance to senior and executive level leaders with affordability recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts. Prepares investment model and business cases for high visibility IT projects and monitors performance. Fosters a partnership with Accounting in ensuring adherence to financial policy and accurate cost treatments. Manages relationships with our internal government accounting compliance team and government auditors. Vigilant on internal controls that abide by the cost estimating principles. Thinks outside the box and effectively forges new paths to work smarter. Leads team’s use of data analytics and automation to create value.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Passion for effectively leading and developing a team for success
- Evidence of strong communication skills and ability to deliver complex ideas in a simple way
- Ability to quickly develop trusted and effective relationships with a wide base of stakeholders. Including senior level leaders and external government auditors.
- Experience and/or ample understanding across government compliance, accounting, audit, or cost estimating
- Understanding of service center / allocable cost pool structures to be able to manage / validate costs and allocations appropriately. Understand cost waterfalls.
- Understanding of Cost Accounting Standards, Forward Pricing Proposals and Cost Disclosure requirements a plus
- Self-driven leader with history of independent judgement and raising concerns and recommendations on solutions to leadership
- Confidence in leading change and bringing others along in delivering innovative new approaches
- Advance ability to analyze budget performance and proactively set in motion actions to meet cost objectives.
- BA degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- Advanced MS Office Skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Education - MBA or CPA
- Experience using Hyperion Planner
- Tableau and/or Data Analytics tools
- Deltek/Costpoint
- COGNOS reporting
