In Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions (PS) we design, develop, and manufacture state-of-the-art systems and technology that enable our customers to execute their mission. We are thought leaders in the application of seeker, guidance, and control technologies, and we have a place for you as a Senior Principal Software Engineer at our Huntsville, Alabama facility.
We are seeking an engaged software leader who is passionate about the craft of software engineering, has a desire to mentor others, lead the execution of a research project along with follow-on programs, and someone who can partner with other members of the engineering leadership team to grow our pool of talented engineers.
In your role, you will provide technical leadership, project management, and guidance of the software engineering development activities on one or more projects for a group of 5 to 10 software engineers where some may be located remotely to you. You will also be an active member of the Software Engineering leadership team, shaping the software culture and process while ensuring that the staffing and technical needs of the business are met.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Secret Security Clearance (active in the past two years)
- Proven software project lead for an embedded real-time solution using C++ running on a Linux target
- Experience leading a software team utilizing Agile methodologies
- Experience executing within the Atlassian Tool Chain and/or GitLab in a software development pipeline
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience designing for Radar and/or IR guided munitions
- Experience designing and implementing with embedded GPUs using OpenCL and/or CUDA
- Experience as a software project lead responsible for execution, cost, and schedule
- Experience as a manager of people through providing supervision, mentoring, hiring, performance reviews, and career guidance
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $127900 - $217400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
