This position is a key contributor to the BAE Space & Mission Systems (SMS) talent and organizational development (T&OD) department. The position performs a variety of talent development activities serving a portfolio of offerings for people managers, emerging leaders, and individual contributors. The focus will be on instructional design support for the entire portfolio, as well as facilitation and program management of our learning offerings. We are looking for an experienced learning & development professional to join our highly skilled and passionate T&OD team; someone who will share our purpose of building capability to elevate how business gets done, promote a connected SMS culture, and ignite a passion for growth and development within our environment.
The Human Resources Strategic Capabilities Unit develops, retains, rewards and attracts talent needed for the business to attain strategic and operational goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead instructional design activities for talent development initiatives across the portfolio; apply adult learning theory to develop learning solutions with a variety of mediums to engage learners and enhance skill development and knowledge transfer.
- Facilitate talent development programming to improve individual contributor, emerging leader, and people management effectiveness. Ensure department learning and development goals are met.
- Create and manage development tools such as job aids, training materials and online resources in alignment with the BAE employer brand/guidelines/policies for consistent look and feel across the Talent Development portfolio.
- Collaborate with SMEs, HRBPs, and T&OD team members to ensure learning objectives, content, delivery methods and standards are met.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across the company.
- Coordinate and program manage day-to-day execution of services and offerings in the talent development portfolio.
- Develop and implement post-training sustainment and measurement events/tools to continuously improve offerings.
- Research trends and remain current with learning techniques and methods.
- Support other strategic facilitation requests as needed.
- Meet criteria required to satisfy periodic internal and external audits.
- Be an avid learner and actively seek and implement feedback to continuously grow and develop self.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS/BA in a related field plus 4 or more years of related experience is required.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Four or more years of experience in a progressive learning and talent development environment.
- Track record in designing and delivering talent development programming at a variety of levels: team lead, supervisory, and mid-level leaders.
- Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices in adult learning theory; instructional theory and design capability; experience with instructional design software tools.
- Excellent facilitation and coaching skills: competency in delivering engaging training programs.
- Excellent writing, presentation, communication, influence and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Customer service orientation and commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards and initiative.
- Detail oriented, highly motivated, and able to manage a variety of projects at one time.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and training tools.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Masters in Learning & Development.
- Familiarity with assessment tools and surveys.
- Broad HR experience.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $81156 - $137964
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
