BAE Systems is hiring a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support out of its Louisville, Kentucky manufacturing site. This is a full-time onsite position supporting the production floor addressing all supplier caused issues.
In this role as a senior level Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting several products within a given program area/market segment. You will work in an Integrated Project Team (IPT) environment and will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of quality for the team. You will be the single point of contact for production on supplier concerns.
Included duties:
- Ensure on-time implementation of corrective actions and verification of preventative action effectiveness.
- Obtain customer approval to use nonconforming parts that have be repaired.
- Review and approve First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Review and approve Vendor Information Request (VIR).
- Perform continuous improvement activities to improve departmental and/or program capability in areas of inspection, cost of quality, quantitative process control or general process efficiency.
- Investigate and troubleshoot to find true root cause for supplier issues through process audit.
- Gather and report results from weekly and monthly quality metrics for all assigned suppliers.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical degree, and four years related Quality Assurance experience, or the overall equivalent experience.
- Quality experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Prior experience with the management of a Quality Management System.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard.
- Computer literacy to include/be able to use MS Office, TipQA, Oracle, and Windchill.
- Strength in planning and time management.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to support in-person at the Louisville, Kentucky site.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience operating in an organization with government quality oversight.
- Familiarity with APQP and Welding.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements.
- Working experience with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Experience with Lean and process improvement tools/methods.
- Experience with Six Sigma, SPC techniques and PFMEA.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
