The selected candidate for this position will be joining Greenlawn NY Operations in the Technical Operations Engineering team and will provide sustaining engineering, process development and new process implementation across the manufacturing floor through hands-on problem solving, data analyses and application of engineering principles, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles to improve product flow and yields. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Supports the manufacturing factory with equipment support and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities include:
- Develops new processes and identifies and implements changes in product flow to support the production line through the application of lean manufacturing principle.
- Specifies equipment for factory. Defines equipment installation, use and preventive maintenance.
- Becomes Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all manufacturing equipment and is responsible for the troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment. Partners with equipment manufacturer to support equipment repairs.
- Analyze defect data to identify areas to improve yield. Works with others to implement process improvements. Applies Lean Six Sigma tools to solve production problems and improve existing processes. Uses poke yoke principles to prevent production problems.
- Participates in and documents root cause corrective action (RCCA) using problem solving methodologies.
- Defines and specifies the requirement for assembly tooling, fixtures and equipment to support current manufacturing operations and recommends changes for production line improvements.
Supports the implementation of new automation assembly equipment including programming, process qualifications/validations and supporting tooling design.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
4 + years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in electronics or a similar field.
Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel at all levels, customers and suppliers.
Experience reading and using technical drawings, wire lists, schematics, process sheets, and ECOs.
Understanding, analyzing, and resolving complex technical problems.
Work independently and be effective in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills required.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Knowledge of J-STD-001, IPC-610, AS9145 Specifications and Standards
- Experience with use of X-Ray tools to detect and analyze solder defects.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black belt.
- Experience with CAD tools such as Creo.
- Experience with ERP Systems, MES Systems, Sharepoint.
- At least 8 years electronics manufacturing process experience.
- Secret Clearance.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $103752 - $176378
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
