In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you’ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions. C4ISR Systems is developing innovative capabilities across the C4ISR mission domain for Advanced Analytics, Adaptive Electronic Warfare / Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) /Cyber, Combat identification, Imagery Sensing and Exploitation, Space Security, and Undersea Warfare. We are a pathfinder in our defense and intelligence markets, focused on delivering disruptive technology to give our customers the edge they need.
Mission Systems Product Line is looking for an experienced, self-motivated mission engineer to support a collaborative approach to the design and implementation of battle management systems. The mission engineer focuses on working directly with customers, end users and development engineers to conceptualize, architect and present solutions that solve the toughest mission needs. We are seeking a candidate with real-world experience as a Battle Manager: managing and operating C2 Battle Management systems, conducting mission planning, and operate/understand radar and electronic countermeasure systems. The mission engineer plays a key role as the interface between the end users and the development team to ensure that the delivered product meets or exceeds the users’ needs.
In this role:
- Utilize operational experience to engage with government stakeholders, system architects, and developers to provide battle management solutions
- Experience working on-site with customers/users in the DoD and/or Intelligence Community
- Ability to coordinate, schedule and lead user engagement activities across multiple DoD and IC organizations with minimal oversight and direction; self-motivation is a must
- Familiarity in writing and understanding CONOPs documents to describe customer issues and problem areas as well as system requirements analysis practices
- Exceptional verbal, writing and listening skills: Ability to communicate complex technical solutions across the development and customer environments
- Self-motivator
- Willing to travel (20%)
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Active/current Secret clearance
- 10+ years in command and control, mission planning, and/or airspace operations
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills which facilitate working with others in a team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering related discipline with 10+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Master’s Degree
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to interface with senior internal personnel on significant community matters, often requiring coordination between organizations
- Demonstrated strong technical writing skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Previous Air Force experience as a Battle Manager (i.e., Job Code: 1C5X1, 1A4X1)
- Experience developing proposals, ECPs, and whitepapers focused on new business.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose, resolve complex problems and to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency.
- Experience with customer/stakeholder communication, management, relationship building, and customer satisfaction
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
