This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
This position is part of the BAE Systems team at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport.
There is no relocation assistance available for this position. If relocation is required the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.
BAE Systems is seeking a Technical Writer with technical background preferably engineering experience who will support the Undersea Warfare System.
The selected individual must be a motivated team player with effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to seek answers to difficult technical problems. All candidates should have a proven track record of being able to plan, prioritize, and deliver assigned projects on time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum education: HS/GED
Minimum years of experience requirement: Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
Security clearance requirement: Active and final/interim DoD Secret security clearance
Must have the following skills/experience:
Virtual technical manuals
Excellent computer skills including the ability to perform data input and extraction.
Ability and experience with revising or writing standard material for reports, manuals, briefs, instruction books and related technical publications and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Professional Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access)
Technical background preferably in engineering. Must be able to interpret engineering notes, organized them, flesh them out and produce a technical document with minimal supervision or direction. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills **** Experience as a Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Tech or Nuclear experience is highly desirable.
Highly desired skills/experience:
Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related and recent work experience
