Job Description The selected candidate will maintain secure voice, data, message, and video telecommunications systems, equipment, and circuits for a government agency’s communications command, supporting routine installations, periodic maintenance, and demand maintenance for the Secure Voice Division (SVD). Experience in the technical capacity with the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) nodal maintenance and associated secure communications instruments (i.e. MLP, STU-III, STE, IST-2, TXP, Omni, Sectera) is required. Will be responsible for providing technical expertise and input to ensure emerging telecommunications programs reach adequate functional requirements, proper security levels, technical compatibility, and compliance with Government and industry standards, Will document and report on a daily basis the status of the assigned responsibilities. Will be self-reliant and capable of performing essential technical maintenance activities without direct supervision, responsible for managing work orders and trouble tickets.
This position is located in Washington DC. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Washington DC or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills High school diploma and a minimum of 8 years of direct experience with telecommunications, integration design, installation and support
Ability to pass additional background screenings
Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts
Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Digital Small Switch (DSS-2A) course
Current Security + certification
Experience with Wide Area Networks
Strong troubleshooting and problem isolation techniques for solving complex troubles with telecommunication instruments, equipment, circuits, channels, and trunk troubles where limited standardization exists
Create trouble tickets and track progression for corrections utilizing the customer based tracking system.
Considerable knowledge base of secure communications instruments associated with the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) and secure communications (vIPer, MLP, STU-III, STE, IST-2, TXP, Omni, Sectera)
Capable of performing telecommunications equipment installations and de-installations IAW applicable published standards with minimal guidancePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience using test equipment such as O-scope, Fireberd, and transmission test sets
Capable of systems analysis with highly complex technologies
Familiarity with patch panels
Knowledge of telecommunications fundamentals
Ability to be self-reliant
Capability to perform essential technical maintenance activities without direct supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to professionally interact with high level military officers and civilian officials on a daily basis
Quality assurance experience with both new and upgraded telecommunications systems
Trainer / training experience
Positive, service oriented attitude
Military experience / knowledge of customs and courtesies
Experience with larger enterprise IP networks and related networking equipment
Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures with regard to the installation, configuration, and management of Cisco IP Systems
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
