BAE Systems is committed to investing long term in development of significant skills to meet these core values, and as such is seeking a Principle Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring compliance of manufactured assemblies and purchased parts to exacting GD&T standards. In addition to the day to day management of measuring activities this Principal position will be responsible for transition of current activities to a new State of the Art Manufacturing Facility including; providing input on sourcing decision for new measurement equipment, interaction with suppliers of new equipment, and developing a program to ensure GD&T measurement techniques are a core skill set within BAE Military GPS facility in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
- Ensures accurate measurements to document compliance to Engineering Drawings
- Manage resolution of if issues noted
- Documents dispositions of non-conforming materials provided by Design, Production and/or Supply Chain Engineering in the system of Record
- Interacts with Industrial Engineering Staff and Suppliers in regard to acquisition of Equipment for new Facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa including: CMM machinery, Video Comparator, and general metrology equipment
- Sources calibrated equipment for Inspection activities
- Develops training materials to instill GD&T as a core value
- Mentors GD&T knowledge and Measurement Tool Usage
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
• Typically a Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of directly related quality engineering experience or equivalent experience
• Ability to read GD&T features and engineering drawings;
• Ability to communicate with peers and subordinate workers within the company;
• Possess effective written and verbal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- AS9100/ISO9000 background
- Welding fabrication and machining Knowledge and experience
- A working knowledge of process finish specifications
- Problem solving
- Military / DOD experience helpful
- A working knowledge of either SAP or Oracle a real plus

What We Offer+ Warrior Integration Program (Est. 2008)
