The successful candidate will be part of a team that performs process review audits of work performed when landing systems are assembled and tested to ensure compliance with approved procedures. Will also inspect finished products from commercial vendors and items fabricated in-house before a part of assembly is integrated into a system. Will read and interpret drawings, schematics and diagrams and manage and archive completed work instructions/test procedures. When necessary, will initiate corrective actions and perform follow up inspections to confirm the effectiveness of action taken to correct the problem. Will implement quality plans and procedures, create and follow process maps, audit check sheets, fill out and complete audit logs and discrepant material report. The selected candidate will also provide input to team members on recommendations for process improvement and may coordinate with internal and external customers and departments. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Skills and Education High school diploma and at least 4 years of experience working with electronic systems OR High school diploma and 2 years of college, vocational school or military training in advanced electronic theory
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Experience with MS Office applications
Experience writing discrepancy reports
Experience using small hand tools
Experience using calibrated measuring tools such as micrometers, dial gauges and calipers
Ability to exert physical energy (lift no more than 39lbs and climb ladders)
Thru-hole and surface mount CCA certification
Experience in interpreting drawings, schematics, part specification sheets, process sheets or Engineering Change Orders
Exposure to a Quality Management System Standard and process improvement activities
Ability to pass background check to gain access to US Navy installations and other customer sites and /or obtain and maintain the required security clearancePreferred Skills and Education Air Traffic Control Systems maintenance and repair experience
Military Radar Systems maintenance and repair experience
Certified Quality Assurance Inspector
Fiber Optic fabrication certification
Process Improvement Training
Cable fabrication certification
Prior military experience
