As a Public Key Infrastructure Lead, you'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the organization's PKI to ensure the security of its enterprise environment. This role involves leading all aspects of the PKI, including the management of cryptographic keys, digital certificates, and the related infrastructure to meet business and security requirements. The PKI Lead ensures that the PKI system is robust, reliable, and compliant with industry standards, while also providing expertise to other teams for integration and support.

Duties

  • Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of the entire PKI lifecycle, including the creation and management of the Certificate Authority (CA) and Certificate Revocation List (CRL).
  • Oversee the secure generation, distribution, and management of cryptographic keys and digital certificates across the enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain PKI policies, procedures, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with industry best practices and organizational policies.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to other IT teams for the integration of PKI solutions into applications and systems, such as for secure communication, authentication, and digital signatures.
  • Monitor the health and performance of the PKI infrastructure, proactively identifying and resolving issues related to certificates, encryption, and authentication.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments of the PKI environment and implement upgrades to enhance security and performance.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, technologies, and trends in public key infrastructure and cryptography.

The successful candidate must be located within 50 miles of Vicksburg, MS.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Database Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Database Administrator (or equivalent, e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator)
  • 10+ years of experience in system and database administration management, with at least 5 years focused on Public Key Infrastructure ITSM platforms in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Proven expertise as a Database Administrator, including full knowledge of related disciplines such as server OS, networking, and cloud integration for hybrid setups
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
  • Strong proficiency in database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and ITSM server management tools, with experience in proactive monitoring and patching
  • In-depth understanding of ITIL 4 practices, particularly for service operations and continual improvement
  • Excellent analytical skills for root cause analysis and optimization in high-stakes, regulated settings
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract obligations

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Database Administrator (or equivalent, e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator)
  • Experience supporting DoD or large federal customers, including database security hardening and ITSM integrations with enterprise systems
  • ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) certification or higher, with focus on service design and transition
  • Background in automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell, SQL scripts) for patch management and monitoring alerts
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ for secure database administration)
  • ITIL Found V4 certification



Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
