Job Description

BAE Systems, Inc. Is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead our Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Solutions Team that delivers ISR products and engineering services to enable our defense (DoD) and intelligence community (IC) tactical warfighters, operators, and analysts to utilize networked sensors, vehicles/assets, and platforms to perform a variety of national security driven missions. We are looking for experienced individuals who are prepared to employ state of the art technologies to build and deploy end-user centric products that support ISR missions (software and systems).

The Program Manager will be responsible for the oversight and overall delivery of ISR solutions developed for multiple customer program offices. These responsibilities include serving as the primary BAE customer interface for the program including day-to-day schedule, cost, and performance management as well as longer term strategic growth plans. The PM is responsible for all aspects of company contract performance including technical capability delivery, schedule, budget, and personnel management. The PM will guide the customer in identifying mission needs, defining requirements, developing project plans, and accepting solutions. The PM reports on and manages compliance with internal BAE company processes. The PM works with BAE leadership and functional support organizations including engineering, contracts, sub-contracts, finance, and security, to define and offer solutions to the customer. The PM will lead the cross-functional team of Analysts, Systems Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts to lead proposal, contracting, and execution tasks

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Program management experience on related DoD and/or other US government programs
  • College degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years' work experience in a technical field related to ISR technologies
  • 5+ years technical supervisory/management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills including active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • High degree of attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining cooperative relationships with peers within the company
  • Management of technical, schedule, budget, and personnel requirements for solutions developed for various customer organizations.
  • Serve as the primary interface to the customer program office while developing and implementing strategies to expand the scope of the program and grow the business.
  • Work closely with the customer to develop their strategies and road maps for their projects and programs
  • Guide and assist customers in identifying mission needs, defining requirements, developing project plans, and offering solutions
  • Translate customer mission needs and opportunities into program strategies, plans, and requirements for execution
  • Manage technical, schedule, budget, performance, and personnel requirements
  • Manage a cross-functional program team comprised of Project Managers, System Engineers, Program Analysts, and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s)
  • Provide periodic program updates to the customer including quarterly program reviews capturing technical and program execution (milestone progress against schedules, actual versus budget expenditures, risks)
  • Proactively identify risks, develop, and execute mitigation strategies and communicate to the customer
  • Manage customer relationships to develop strategy and plans to advance and grow the customer’s programs
  • Coordinate with internal BAE and subcontractor functional teams to identify staffing, facility and infrastructure requirements to fulfill customer objectives
  • Lead proposal and contract activities including business and technical responses to customer requests for proposal, drafting of statement of technical objectives, engineering change control process.
  • Proactively coordinate across stakeholder organizations and worksites to build collaborative relationships and assist the team to meet delivery objectives

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience interacting with government contracting and acquisition processes
  • Relevant subject matter expertise in ISR systems.
  • Experience managing program(s) with budgets greater than $20M/year
  • Earned Value Management or equivalent planning and budgeting experience
  • Experience serving as the primary customer interface for a program, with responsibility for development, implementation, and execution of an overall strategy
  • PMP certification
  • Agile software development experience



Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
