Job Description BAE Systems’ Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) for the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line.

The PEM will help grow the PGSS product line by managing BAE Systems’ broad technology base to fill real gaps that Department of Defense customers have in the area of smart weapons. This role requires the candidate to be responsible for planning, staffing, budget, schedules, scope management, risk and opportunity management, and team coordination. The candidate coordinates with the program manager to ensure all customer needs are met.
This role will be staffed in our new and growing facilities in Huntsville, Alabama. Our new 83,000 square foot facility will provide you a state-of-the-art environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for execution of all efforts within the project, including prime product development, test equipment, and interface with operations.
- Provides technical leadership of a project within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer. Defines, generates, and reviews customer’s project requirements and needs. Leads technical studies to refine project requirements.
- Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
- Leads team in planning and execution per company process. Provides the coordination between functional managers and Product Line Leads.
- Serves as the Engineering focal point for all activity within program including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, integrated engineering plans on programs, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management.
- Drives continuous improvement of product team.
- Ensures project safety per company practices, processes, and policy.

- Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of professional experience
- Active Secret clearance
- Demonstrated program engineering leadership.
- Minimum 2 years engineering experience leading engineering efforts for missile or munition technologies.
- Proven leadership managing projects and interfacing with customers
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- 5+ years’ experience leading programs in missile or munition technologies
- Exposure to imaging, radio frequency, and GPS sensor technologies
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Experience leading $25M+ Tech Maturation or EMD programs.
