Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Performs proccessing and plastisol operations, assembles electrical harnesses and steam cleans various vehicles, assemblies, subassemblies and parts. Completes various loading operations to prepare vehicles, assemblies, subassemblies and parts for shipment.
3rd Shift
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
Various hand tools such as hammers, pliers, wrenches, banding tools, chains, nailers, tape measure, chain saw and cable tightening devices. Other tools such as atomizer, various paint equipment (i.e. viscosity cups, spray guns), jib and overhead cranes (pendulum and radio controlled), power driven mobile equipment (tow-motor), electric or hand trucks, various steaming equipment, hydraulic vulcanizers, crimping presses, induction soldering equipment, continuity testers, tinning pots, vulcanizing molds, automatic wire strippers, automatic part numbering machine, heat ovens, dip tanks, fuel cans, stenciling equipment, drills, air guns and ladders, etc. Personal computers or other data acquisition devices (i.e. bar-code).
MATERIALS:
Government, customer furnished, purchased and plant produced parts/subassemblies. Various hardware and materials such as nuts, bolts, fittings, nails, screws, metal banding, cables, chains, masking tape, plastisol liquids, fuel oil, preservative oil, cleaners, solder, batteries and acid, various paints, primers, thinners and solvents, enclosure kits, various electrical materials (i.e. wire, plugs, lights) blocks and lumber.
SOURCE OF SUPERVISION:
Process Supervisor, Assistant Process Supervisor, or may be directed by Lead Person or Self-Directed Work Team.

WORKING PROCEDURE:
- Receives instructions and work orders from Process Supervisor, Assistant Process Supervisor, Lead Person and Self-Directed Work Team.
- Refers to drawings, sketches, manuals, books, charts, military specifications and process sheets.
- Handles materials to and from work area within the department, by using jib or overhead cranes and/or material handling equipment (i.e. tow-motor, electric or hand trucks) as required.
- Prepares vehicles for spray painting or hand painting by masking items in position and plugging holes as required.
- Loads stowage equipment (O.V.E. and BII). Hooks, unhooks and guides crane operator in lifting and positioning loads on or off railroad cars and trucks. Fastens loads on trucks or railroad cars to prevent shifting of loads in transit.
- Assembles various harnesses and attach harness leads to instrument and switch panels and performs various tests to finished assemblies.
- Preserves engines, fuel tanks and gun barrels using preservative oils, atomizer or swab, greases turret rings when required, applies various sealant, anti-skid or other coatings to proper surfaces as required.

- Ensures specifications performance of product, vehicles, process and workmanship and documents findings on personal computers or other data acquisition devices as required.
- Performs all steaming operations preparing assemblies, subassemblies and parts for various plant operations.
- Performs checks on material and equipment to maintain efficient and safe operations and report any deficiencies.
- Drives vehicles to de-fuel or other work stations, performs various checks in the presence of inspectors and corrects (or arranges for corrections of) any defects found by company or government inspectors.
- Keeps work area safe and clean.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

- Ability to drive vehicles
- Use of Pressure steam equipment
- Ability to work at various heights
- Ability to climb in and out of large structures/vehicles
- Ability to read work instructions
Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
