Job Description Join BAE Systems' Intelligence and Security Sector and be part of an agile team that enables our employees to support our customers and their missions. As a Principal Systems Administrator, you will support the administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Perform desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring and security. Operating System (OS) installation and other local area system administration related functions. Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to those systems. Provide Tier 2 and 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems, as well as escalation and status communications to agency management and internal customers. Configure and manage UNIX and/or Windows operating systems. Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving applications, operating systems, hardware, infrastructure, and any combination thereof. Able to troubleshoot, as well as maintain the integrity and configuration of network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of enterprise systems. The Principal System Administrator is instrumental in providing comprehensive definition of all aspects of system development, from analysis of mission needs to the verification of system performance. You will have the opportunity to perform evaluations of system alternatives, assessing the risks and costs to solve some of the world's most complex IT challenges.
Note: Must be able to maintain an active TS/SCI CI Polygraph.
#itemsudsRequired Education, Experience, & Skills Education and Experience:
- Senior - HS Diploma / GED & 10 yrs, Associates & 8 yrs, Bachelors & 6 yrs, Masters & 4 yrs, or PhD & 2 yrs
- Security+ ce or higher DoD 8570 certification
- Have extensive experience as a Systems Administrator
- Able to develop solutions to complex problems in alignment with organizational goals
- Perform independently without direct supervision and able to exercise considerable latitude in determining objective approaches to various assignments
- Versed in providing consultation to management and perform as liaison on matters pertaining to policies, plans, and objectives
Note: Must have an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's and the following years' experience:
- Sr - 6+ yrs
- Advanced DoD 8570 certification
