As a Principal Systems Administrator you will get to work alongside team members that are passionate about technology, about making a difference, and contributing to our freedom by architecting and supporting changes within two hybrid on-prem classified networks at Hill Air Force Base in Northern Utah.

In this role you will have an opportunity to engage with and make recommendations to project managers, technical managers, cybersecurity leaders, and government customers as we plan, design, and develop new architectures, upgrade equipment, and integrate with the Cloud. You'll have the opportunity to work directly solving problems, improving performance, and making new connections amid a fast paced environment. This position will include the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Enterprise application support including ACAS, ArcGIS, Atlassian Suite, Bitbucket, Cameo, Doors, Primavera, Exchange, SharePoint, MatLab, Solidworks, FlexLM, Tableau, etc.

  • Review customer requirements and create options on how those requirements could be satisfied with various technical solutions including costs, tradeoffs, and limitations.

  • Works with technical teams to create Technical Project Plans detailing the steps required to implement the selected technical solution.

  • Conducts capacity and performance analysis. Provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.

  • Architects, plans, designs, and develops new enterprise architecture.

  • Provide leadership to the technical teams during implementation to make sure the solution is implemented as planned and to resolve issues and roadblocks as they arise.

  • Business process analysis.

  • Duties may include setting up infrastructure, enterprise applications, systems and server administration, technical documentation, tuning system performance, and installing software on servers and workstations.

This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 12 years of IT experience,
or a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 10 years of IT experience.

Required skills:
- Experience with Windows or Linux server operating systems and concepts.
- Working knowledge of various enterprise hardware platforms and enterprise software applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution.
- Fast learner with ability to quickly comprehend technology and understand unique system requirements.

If not already DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant, must receive CompTIA Security+ or other DoD IAT Level II certification within 6 months of employment.

This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Preferred skills include experience with the following:

  • Managing and maintaining data storage arrays

  • Managing and maintaining Windows & Red Hat Linux servers

  • Virtualization (VMware) and cloud architectures (AWS)

  • Committed to results and success in accomplishing goals

  • Familiarity with documenting system functionality, source control systems and configuration/change management practices

  • I2C2 CISSP, CompTIA CASP or other DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification
