We are seeking a Precision Guidance Systems Integration & Test (I&T) / Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Lead to work in our Huntsville location. The successful candidate will have experience leading I&T teams supporting Quick React Programs delivering dual modality (radar and EO/IR) seeker products for Urgent Material Request (UMR). Additionally, experience needed includes: setting up HWIL test environments, leading mid-size engineering development teams, hands on experience with electronic support equipment, I&T of multi-modality sensors and fluent in current best practices for end-to-end real time simulation techniques. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on high performance teams supporting programs of national significance.
In Huntsville, our Engineering team is working in a recently opened state of the art facility and operating in a unique environment where we have the power and resources of BAE Systems behind us while working in a dynamic and flexible model with the feel of a start-up.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
- Supports the development of verifiable requirements and compliance matrix files for both systems engineering and hardware/software engineering requirements.
- Generate overall system test strategies, along with associated documentation to include system verification plans and procedures.
- Ensure that appropriate facilities and test equipment needed for system level testing are planned and made available at the appropriate scheduled time.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full- time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

- An active Secret clearance is required
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as the position will require regular briefings and narrative reports to senior engineering leadership within the program portfolio.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience working across the entire Systems Lifecycle
- Experience in system architecting of solutions for guided projectiles is preferred, along with experience in leading technical teams.
- Skills in modeling, design and test for active and passive IR seeker/ sensor systems.
- Test execution and the ability to work across functional engineering disciplines will only serve to enhance success in this most key position within our precision guidance portfolio of programs.
Full-Time Salary Range: $111700 - $189900
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
