Job Description BAE Systems, Inc. employees and sub-contractors aligned to the Air Force Solutions--Strategic Systems Directorate support the United States Air Force (USAF) Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) System Directorate as it sustains the existing Minuteman III (MM III) weapon system and acquires its replacement, the Sentinel missile. BAE Systems is looking for qualified professionals to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting sustainment and modernization efforts for the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile weapon system. The Minuteman III is a 1970s era weapon system and is scheduled to be retained as the United States military's prompt, global strike deterrent system until at least 2030. BAE Systems enables their employees to be empowered to use their experience, education, and skills to assist the Air Force to advance the Minuteman III weapon system into the next generation. The Senior Logistician Parts Acquisition role is a dynamic position that will allow opportunities to support the entire Minuteman III weapon system.
The Parts Acquisition Senior Logistician duties include:
- Using Major Command implementing instructions, AFCSM 21-series manuals, and applicable technical orders (T.O.) to validate, review, correct and manage work orders that require parts are accurately reflected in Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS)
- Initiate parts requests during the IMDS Debriefing process for discrepancies requiring parts
- Provide AF Form 2005(s) to Decentralized Material Support (DMS) for ALL events requiring parts
- Initiate weapon system and support equipment parts requests through IMDS with assistance from Performing Work Center, DMS and Logistics Readiness Squadron Materiel Management Flight
- Research parts using applicable T.O.’s IAW established approval process
- Order parts listed in the Illustrated Parts Breakdown T.O.
- Maintain electronic records of ALL parts ordered
- Support validation of “awaiting parts” conditions and ensure parts have been ordered
- Review correct defer code is used against applicable work orders IAW applicable guidance
- Facilitate Supply RECON on AWM parts to ensure correct location and validity
- Coordinate turn in of uninstalled parts
- Advise Performing Work Center on additional parts that may require to be ordered
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Maintenance experience with missile maintenance or Supply experience or 8 years of Maintenance Management Production experience with knowledge of ICBM Maintenance operations including the ordering and reconciliation of weapon system parts.
- Must possess the ability to interpret/apply applicable Major Command implementing instructions and associated technical orders
- Detail oriented, with excellent time management skills; ability to multitask and balance competing priorities in an effective manner. Strong interpersonal skills: works well with others and responds well to direction.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels throughout the Missile Wing and AFNWC
- Must possess an IMDS background.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Community College Air Force (CCAF) Degree in one of the following: Missile Maintenance Technology, Space and Missile Maintenance Technology, Electronic Systems Technology, or Mechanical and Electrical Technology degree
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $64440 - $109530
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
