Job Description BAE Systems, Inc. is searching for a motivated Secret or Top Secret cleared Networking Engineer to support BAE Systems Closed Programs. Here at BAE, we work together as one team creating and supporting technology so we can Protect those who protect us.
Our Network engineer will work with the team to design and implement complex networking solutions, troubleshoot difficult or chronic problems, and identifies both short and long-term solutions. Will also help define network standards and create documentation to support these standards.
Designs and plans network communications systems.
Provides specifications and detailed drawings for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer. Hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, switches etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Provides technical leadership. Leads small or medium size project initiatives and provides technical expertise as a network subject matter expert (SME). Maintains project status, tracking, and status reporting to the project management and network management.
Identify customer requirements and design moderately complex network systems. Determine solutions based upon customer requirement and provide cost estimates, quotes, as well as other related documentation for various projects and tasks.
Ensures that the BAE Systems WAN and LANs are operating efficiently and optimal, so that all service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved. Develop diagrams of networks using standard templates to illustrate solutions to customers and technical staff.
Conduct feasibility studies and participates in the development of technical standards.
Required Skills and Education
• Must currently have an active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
• Experience and knowledge in:
o Cisco Switching
o Cisco Routing
o Cisco ASA
o Cisco VoIP
o Physical Layer
Preferred Skills and Education
• 3-5 years’ experience with Cisco Switching and Cisco Routing 3-5 years
• 1-2 years’ experience with Cisco VoIP and Physical Layer
