BAE Systems is looking for a highly qualified and self-motivated senior Network Engineer for the Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS) program. This position will support the US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center Innovation and Prototyping Directorate, to develop, deploy, modernize, and expand the EDIS program and its customers. This position directly supports experimental and operational satellite missions.
This individual will be responsible for the monitoring and support of Network Infrastructure & Virtual Server Environments (Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, & VPN’s, Servers, Storage Area Networks, & VMware) and be able to troubleshoot, install, implement and administer network systems. This individual will ensure planned testing activities are executed, develop network security guidelines and configure network equipment.
Perform network design/monitoring, permissions management, account management, user activity logging, virtualization management, middleware management, database management.
Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities
Prepare the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling
Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Apply knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools. (Solar Winds, Wireshark, etc)
Establish overall strategic network standards and priorities to maintain the network baseline
This individual will work on a team comprised of fellow Network Engineers, Systems Administrators, Software Developers and Software Testers who utilize lifecycle management frameworks, such as Scrum and Agile, to complete new IT projects and maintain existing infrastructure.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
Must possess DoD 8570.1 IAT baseline certification, CCNA certification
Sound knowledge of network security and control models
Knowledge of communication protocols, specifically routing protocols like BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IP
Strong background in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Visio
Good understanding of discipline process; information and data management, configuration control
Record of success in contributing to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make key recommendations
Ability to provide high level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data
Bachelor’s degree plus seven years' experience
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Advanced degree (Master’s) in science and technology related disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, and Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Strong ability to use software to develop drawings, network topologies, and interconnect diagrams
Seasoned communicator with demonstrated record of success in leadership, followership, and working with contract representatives and government sponsors.
