Come and build your career with BAE Systems. We are looking for a Material Planning Analyst to join our team. The Analyst will:
Perform receiving functions using Oracle MRP, Buysite, Arriba or other inventory control systems for material according to the record retention policy
Determine if independent requirements can be satisfied by substitution or transferring surplus material before releasing purchase order request electronically. Coordinate with other departments to affect permanent changes to the BOM as necessary.
Within the MRP system, enter; monitor and maintain independent requirements for a designated and/or assigned group of part numbers. This includes, but is not limited to, the review and release of manufacturing orders, purchase orders, and repair orders, the monitoring and associated activity in support of material shortages, appropriate action to replenishment signals, and resolution of any problems that affect the manufacturing flow and delivery of end items
Administer and coordinate cycle count activity for all material. Perform reconciliation activity on all inventory discrepancies and make all necessary inventory adjustments. The employee will be capable of performing a variety of associated tasks to maintain accurate inventory records
Monitor and control current production spares activity from the generation of requirements through the shipping cycle
Expedite alleviation of material shortages and resolve any problems that affect the manufacturing flow and delivery of end items.
Review a variety of material department reports such as, but not limited to, reorder point calculation, residual inventory, error reports, work-in-process reports, WIP accuracy reports, perishable material reports and government property physical inventories. Analyze the information for accuracy and determine and implement appropriate actions
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma
1+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing/Production Operations, MRP, Materials Planning, Inventory Control and/or Supply Chain
- Basic understanding of MRP fundamentals and ability to use metrics
- The ideal candidate will be ambitious and motivated by gaining a broad exposure to all facets of the organization
- Impeccable work ethic, flexible, hands-on and demonstrated adaptability
- Sense of urgency and critical thinking skills
- Ability to professionally communicate with stakeholders and customers
- Customer service focused, with willingness to own the customer experience
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word and Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Five years related experience in Production Control or Inventory Management
Experience in Defense, Aerospace, product development and/or manufacturing work environment
