Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

The CEMA Strategic Systems team is seeking a team member who is comfortable in a multi-tasking dynamic environment. In this position the candidate will have responsibilities across multiple areas including audit and verification to requirements for ANSI/ESD S20.20 and SAE-AS9146 compliance as well as adherence to company policies and procedures across the Austin Factory.

The duties for this hands-on position include the performance of verification testing and audits for established companywide programs. Based on test and audit results, the candidate will be required to work with the area owners to ensure all deficiencies are corrected. Effective communication skills are required to foster collaboration and expedite solutions.

Additional responsibilities include collaborating with leadership across multiple sites in ensuring the establishment and sustainability of robust processes for Austin Manufacturing at this sector level. These opportunities will require presenting work output to all levels of management for various reviews and alignment.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Austin Site ESD and FOD SME
      • Using industry standard test equipment to establish conformance to the BAE Systems ESD Control Plan and to ANSI/ESD S20.20.
      • Participates in ESD, FOD and chemical awareness Sector Level Committees
      • Perform verification testing and Auditing of ESD protected work area equipment and tooling
      • Qualify production materials and tools for use in the manufacture of ESD/FOD Sensitive products and maintain Approved Materials lists.
      • Establish and maintain conformance to BAE Systems FOD Control Plan and to SAE-AS9146 Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Prevention Program.
      • Participate in any RCCA involving ESD/FOD issues or Corrective Actions as required.
      • Monitors the factory for changes and compliance with ESD and FOD
      • Maintaining an ESD/FOD audit/verification schedule for multiple manufacturing areas.
      • Researching possible low-risk solutions to ESD issues.
      • Play critical role in driving proper equipment disposition management (MUDA)
    2. Ensuring Austin Operations factories comply with the policies and procedures
      • Aids factory managers in ensuring all Command media standards are adhered to
      • Acts as the CEMA/PS3 liaison on Operations Document Review Board (DRB) as required
      • Monitors Factory for conformance to Factory procedures and work with Factory Management to identify solutions for implementation.
    3. Leading the Austin 7S program
      • Aids factory managers in ensuring employees working in the area understand established factory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
      • Identifies problem areas through the observation of Factory activity.
      • Ensures mandatory signage is posted where necessary.
      • Assist Austin in maintaining a safe, healthy and clean work environment.
      • Monitors SHE Dept. procedures and practices, and propose recommendations for improvement.
      • Ensures good housekeeping and aid in determining cleaning requirements in Factories such as
      • Occasionally submits work orders for factory maintenance and other tasks needed to be performed by Facilities.
    4. Actively providing factory audit assistance
      • Assist factories in preparing, training and supporting AS9100 audits.
      • Supports visits, tours and audits
      • Acts as a liaison with internal / external auditors and ensures periodic self-audits are performed.
      • Participates in the resolution of audit finding(s) as appropriate.
    5. Safeguarding compliance to company sponsored programs
      • Participates in ESD, FOD and chemical awareness Sector Level Committees
      • Monitors the factory for changes and compliance with ESD and FOD requirements ensures that expired chemicals within assigned Factory(s) are identified and disposed of properly
      • Participant of the Manufacturing Working Groups as required
      • Ensures that the requirements for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements are communicated to factory personnel and that these requirements are enforced.
      • Aid factory managers in inter functional communications with SHE, Facilities, Engineering and other departments as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in interpretation of industrial specifications and electrical testing to those specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to operate various electrical test instrumentation
  • Quality experience within an ISO9001/AS9100 quality system
  • Writing skills to prepare both Verification Audit and Material Testing Reports
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Previous experience with the implementation and monitoring of an ESD program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of the organization
