Our Manufacturing Engineers provide technical support to Operations employees and other support functions during the manufacturing of wheeled and tracked military vehicles. This role is specific to assembly and test of vehicles at our York, PA facility. Manufacturing Engineers are the first responders and problem solvers to technical production barriers. We are responsible for ensuring technical outcomes are consistent with established manufacturing engineering principles. We provide guidance to the greater teams ensuring customer, company, quality, and regulatory requirements are met. This position supports the 3rd Shift, 9:30 PM to 7:00 AM, on a 9/80 schedule.
In this role, you will...
- Provide line-side troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues on vehicle.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and priorities.
- Champion standardization of manufacturing processes, assess process changes and implement process improvements.
- Train and guide operators on the manufacturing processes and use of tooling.
- Provide 3rd shift oversight for Bargaining Unit employees as-needed.
- Review detailed technical drawings and specifications to provide acceptable product and process work instructions.
- Support development and execution of repairs as necessary.
- Utilize technical writing skills to support cross-functional hand-offs ensuring strong communication across 24/7 operations.
- This position is responsible for ensuring requirements are met throughout assembly, integration and test processes on the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) Value Stream.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires 4-year degree + 1 year of experience in an manufacturing assembly environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Capable of working with current computer applications, CAD programs, and model manipulation.
- Possesses an understanding of equipment and technologies relevant to mechanical and electrical assemblies and automotive performance.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems that require a professional level of mechanical/electrical engineering knowledge and manufacturing processes.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Will be required to work with customers (both internal and external).
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Knowledge of mechanical and electrical best practices
Hands-on automotive assembly and test experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70735 - $120250
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
