Job Description This position reports into the Director of Accounting (ESS). The Manager of Finance is primarily responsible for overseeing all disbursements processed across the enterprise, reviewing and maintaining strong oversight as well as controls for the AP department in the areas of accounting and disbursements. The position is responsible for ensuring key internal controls are in place to assure timely and accurate payments of approved invoices. Ensure all processes are in compliance with internal and governmental rules and regulations. The role will also oversee several accounting activities related to AP, including but not limited to managing month end close, account reconciliations and execution of 1099s for all Sectors. This role will support the period sub-close as well as period end close process for all Businesses. The candidate is responsible for continuing to develop and improve operations within the team. The candidate is responsible for partnering with the Director of Accounting to maintain key relationships and interface with stakeholders (including Supply Chain, General Accounting, and Treasury) outside of ESS on a regular basis.Required Education, Experience, & Skills 1. Oversees day-to-day operations related to daily and weekly disbursements of approved invoices. Manages disbursements staff to process payments via paper, electronic, or wire methods. Ensures strong coordination with Treasury is in place to maintain controls on disbursements and visibility on cash outflow.
2. Responsible for establishing processes and procedures to ensure that all approved invoices are paid in a timely manner, ensuring strong internal controls are maintained and adhere to compliance requirements. Partners with the Director to evaluate, analyze and implement changes to policies and procedures to drive efficiencies in cost and accuracy.
3. Plans, organizes, and monitors the use of resources required to provide cost effective/quality services within the financial, operational, and quality parameters assigned.
4. Oversees AP accounting duties related to month-end and year-end closing processing, including oversight AP reporting for month-end and year-end planning (e.g. accruals or liability forecasts).
5. Oversees the preparation of cash flow reports for selected Sectors. Ensures the successful execution of year end 1099 reporting. Will partner with the procurement teams to ensure Suppliers are set-up with the correct FED ID (TIN) numbers in the respective systems.
6. Partners with the Director to engage BAE Systems internal stakeholders to identify areas of improvement for AP processes or reporting within FSS and maintain strong collaborative relationships.
7. Supports and addresses any compliance or audit requests as they arise. Ensures that disbursements processes are regularly evaluated and tested to ensure strong internal controls are in place for the given processes to be in compliance with rules and regulations. Ensures that all COSA workbooks are completed timely using the ARCHER system.
8. Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards. Considered an expert in field within the organization.
9. Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
10. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
11. Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans and objectives

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years related professional experience
- Experience overseeing Accounts Payable required
- Experience with 1099 compliance, and other AP-related accounting activities
- Experience and familiarity with financial systems and ERPs (for example, Kofax TotalAgility, CitiBank Payment Exchange, Deltek Costpoint, Oracle Financials)
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Demonstrated strong managerial and coaching skills with the proven ability to effectively handle employee relations, development and performance issues
- Demonstrated ability to create a diverse and inclusive team environment which embraces the great workplace principles of Respect, Camaraderie and Pride
- Excellent entrepreneurial skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex subject matters effectively
- Experience managing customer relationships required
- Demonstrated experience performing accounting services as a defense/government contractor in a governmentally regulated and compliant organization, specifically DCAA, is strongly preferred
- Proven experience translating business requirements into service opportunities.
- Previous experience managing implementation of technology and executing process improvements within the organization
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $87700 - $149100

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
