We are seeking an IT Cloud Architect II to support the Air and Space Force Solutions (ASFS) Strategic Systems Information Services team. As an IT Cloud Architect II, you will work as a technical team member to develop, adapt, and maintain secure, scalable, and repeatable solutions for cloud networks, platforms, and applications. You will innovate and identify opportunities to improve processes and solutions. You will collaborate with BAE Systems and customer/mission partners to maintain a multidisciplinary focus for this large-scale project.
In this role you will:
Provide technical expertise throughout the development life cycle and focus on delivery of quality solutions
Play a key roll in technical discussions and support consensus among the team
Support cloud application data and user migrations on customer cloud environments
Create, implement, and assist in the development of scripts to automate everyday operations
Contribute ideas on how to continuously improve systems and processes
The position requires technical knowledge of systems, networks, and application security. The candidate must have analytical skills for troubleshooting issues, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred, but not required to start.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required education, experience, and skills:
BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
3+ years relative experience with a Bachelors or 1+ years with a Master’s Degree
Must obtain Security+ or other DoD 8570 - IAT Level II certification within 3 months of hire
Experience with scripting or programming languages
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Strong ethics in the context of business and information security
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Fast learner with ability to quickly comprehend technology and understand unique system requirements.
The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred, but not required to start.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred skills include experience with any of the following:
Experience with Government Cloud products including Amazon Web Services
Experience working in a software application development environment
Experience with “Infrastructure as Code.” For example: Cloud Formation, TerraForm, and Ansible
Operational experience with networking and an understanding of networking principles
Knowledge, understanding, and experience with Amazon AWS
Experience with troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution
Experience managing solutions in virtual environments with VMware products
Experience using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to obtain data and initiate action.
Expertise integrating across AWS Cloud Services, DevSecOps / DevOps work
Experience operating, troubleshooting, and scaling online services
Amazon certifications
Ability to communicate technical concepts and issues to non technical leaders and users
ISC2 CISSP, CompTIA CASP or other DoD 8570 - IAT Level III certification
