Job Description What's a career like at BAE Systems? Remarkable! This is an International Trade Compliance Manager position supporting the International Trade Compliance (ITC) team at corporate headquarters. This position will work in support of investigation of matters of interest and preparation of disclosures related to instances of non-compliance. This position requires experience as a trade compliance professional, an understanding of how the ITC function supports the business program and functions, advanced research, writing and communication skills. A high level of organization and follow up skills, the ability to complete detail-oriented tasks and to work within a team environment. This position will also support audits, assessments and reviews of Inc. businesses to measure compliance with export and import regulations and SSA requirements.
This job reports to the Senior Director of International Trade Compliance at Inc. Headquarters in Falls Church, VA. Hybrid and remote work will be considered for this position.
In this role, you will:
- Demonstrate a high level of expertise with US export and import laws including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR);
- Assist with internal investigations under direction of the ITC Senior Director and assist with the preparation of disclosures, including development of analysis and findings, conduct interviews, develop written summaries, research regulations, prepare draft correspondence to USG and Sectors;
- Assist with assigned compliance tasks, data calls, reporting requirements, record keeping and file management, participate in working groups, continuous improvement projects, process and procedure development and training;
- Review Department of State agreements including Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements and Distribution Agreements
- Review export and import licenses and permits obtained from the Departments of State and Commerce;
- Review documentation related to Customs and ATF requirements and AES filings with Census Bureau;
- Review export jurisdiction and classification findings and the certification and use of license exemptions and exceptions for a business group;
- Review compliance with record keeping and data management requirements;
- Review compliance related to document review, public release, review of international purchase orders and hardware shipments, foreign visits, and international travel requests for a business group;
- Develop analysis and findings, conduct interviews, draft written summaries, research regulations, and prepare written documentation;
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience;
- Team player, proactive, self-motivated, highly organized, ability to handle shifting priorities;
- Communicate effectively and professionally (both orally and in writing) at all levels of the organization;
- Make decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;
- Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and procedures assignments within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule;
- Exercise discretion and independent judgement in the performance of duties and tasks assigned.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience working as an Empowered Official in the defense industry;
- Experience working in OCR EMS export management software;
- Experiencing working with Voluntary Disclosures and related investigations for trade compliance matters.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $113080 - $192280

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
