Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a Program Manager who will report to the Director, International Gun Systems. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of a Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) program to:
- Achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Achieve schedule, cost/profitability, and technical performance objectives
- Effectively manage program complexities that include multiple production elements, product/technology development, and significant subcontract and in-country work elements
The Program Manager must demonstrate the ability to work across functional lines to meet the program objectives and must develop and present program status at Program and Technical reviews with customers and at Program Management Reviews with various levels of the BAE Systems organization (Business Area, Business Unit, Sector, and Inc.). The Program Manager will develop and maintain pertinent program documentation including the Execution Plan, Risk and Opportunity Management plans, and other Life Cycle Management plans. The Program Manager will:
- Act as primary point of contact between BAE Systems and the customer, suppliers, and key customer stakeholders. This includes working across international cultures and time zones.
- Be responsible and accountable to Product Line Management for program execution, profitability, timeliness, and overall success. Will makes decisions to deliver cost-effective solutions to the company and ensure assigned projects meet financial commitments for orders, sales, profit and cash, while managing to an appropriate level of risk.
- Lead or participate in the creation of new business/follow-on business strategies and in the development of strategic and financial plans.
- This role may be located in either the Louisville, Kentucky or Minneapolis, Minnesota Weapon Systems locations.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years related experience.
Demonstrated project and program management, Import/Export, production management, and logistics.
Customer focus and relationship building skills.
Experience establishing and leading Integrated Product Teams (IPT) in an inclusive, empowering, and positive manner.
Very strong presentation and organizational skills.
Ability to develop program/project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
Earned Value Management experience in a Fixed Price environment.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written at all levels within the company.
Highly adaptable with a high degree of initiative.
Ability to initiate, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Program scope and cost estimating including estimate to complete/estimate at completion (ETC/EAC) processes.
Ability to operate independently and proactively.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience in new business capture.
A certification in Project Management from an industry-recognized organization such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP).
Knowledge and prior experience in planning, scheduling, and implementation of both production and support delivery programs.
Experience in business case development, analysis, and presentation.
