BAE Systems is looking for well qualified professionals to join our team for an exciting opportunity to support the readiness and sustainment of the USAF Minuteman III (MMIII) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program. This position will directly support the MMIII ICBM program through operational test launch preflight planning, launch support and post launch analysis.
Provide support analysis for hardware receipt inspections, hardware and software processing and system integration, launch preparation and test data evaluation.
Support MMIII operational test launch preflight mission planning, test launch meetings and post launch flight assessment and analysis discussions.
Provide engineering support necessary to support the Air Force with missile flight test anomalies and provide analysis in determining causes/malfunctions and develop corrective action solutions through pre & post launch data reviews.
Provide on-site engineering expertise, insight, corrective action, guidelines and information concerning the MMIII weapon system in areas of Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) consisting of telemetry subsystems, GPS translator subsystems, command destruct subsystems, pulse code modulation power subsystems, Radio Frequency (RF) subsystems, flight translators, flight battery power subsystems, destruct systems, Operational Ground Equipment (OGE), and test support equipment.
Develop test plans and procedures and review test documentation as required.
Monitor current and future range instrumentation capabilities and requirements and coordinate with subsystem contractors as needed.
Maintain MMIII historical instrumentation wafer data and perform comparison data analysis of subsystems.
Provide training to the customer as required.
Support special studies and analysis as required.
This position will be located at Vandenberg SFB, CA.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Previous experience in instrumentation telemetry theory, global positioning system theory and western range IRIG chapter 10 telemetry standards.
Ability to work reliably with Matlab and MM telemetry IRIG chapter 10 software tools.
Must understand MMIII telemetry requirements, work with analog measurements, discrete data, digital data, and operational ground/flight computer words and have an ability to perform derived data products produced from IRIG Chapter 10 telemetry files.
Must be able to operate under a timeline driven process environment and able to solve problems relatively quickly and supportive IAW USAF technical directives.
Have an understanding of MMIII flight sequence of events.
Must be familiar with the MMIII Security Classification Guide.
Must possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Valid driver’s license and some travel required.
