Job Description BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional senior level people manager/leader for a challenging and exciting opportunity to lead in the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Site Activation Task Force (SATAF) for Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), as Deputy Lead Manager of SATAF Operations


The Sentinel Program (formerly GBSD) is an enormous and complex “Mega-Project” modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. It includes a complete refurbishment or replacement of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly-designed, technologically-advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command & control system (including an updated airborne launch capability) as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead.

Detailed Job Description:
This leadership position will directly support Sentinel ICBM Site Activation Task Force (SATAF) activities in development of the next generation of ICBM’s. This vital position will report to the BAE Lead Manager of SATAF Operations. Additionally, this position will directly support key internal and external shareholders vision, direction, and implementation during the transition from the Minuteman III (MMIII) to the Sentinel weapon system. Duties will include supporting AFGSC/A10 SATAF Staff and key decision makers while interfacing with external Air Force agencies, Numbered Air Force, and Department of the Air Force agencies involving the modernization of the ICBM fleet.

Areas of responsibility include but limited to the following:

  • Supporting implementation and validation of programmatic schedules, deployment models and personnel training plans
  • Assisting with oversight across the development, design, deployment and execution for the Sentinel Program
  • Advising Strategic Leaders during MMIII deactivation, demilitarization, and deposal of MMIII Launch Facilities, Launch Control Centers, Command and Control Systems ultimately culminating in a fully deployed/capable Sentinel Weapon System
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of organizational structures
  • Providing support for the development of ICBM operational resources
  • Support AFGSC and USSTRATCOM activities by assessing risk and providing mitigating opportunities
  • Assisting in the development of Sentinel weapon system deployment requirements, schedules and risk mitigation
  • Display highly skilled written and verbal communication with Strategic Leaders across the DoD, Air Force, and associated government senior officials
  • Advising on security, operations, and maintenance operations and the development of plans, CONOPs, and execution orders supporting the ICBM flee
  • Expertly knowledgeable and astute in advising/supporting contingency operations involving nuclear surety, security, safety, and other ICBM operations


Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status.
This position is only located at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Due to the special-access classified working environment, the work is performed on-site with minimal telework.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum 14 years of experience in direct program/project management (or 12 years with a Master’s degree)

Must have a current (within last 6 years) Secret security clearance or higher and be able to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable timeframe.

Eligible for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance

Superior communication skills (Verbal and Written)

Experience at the Strategic and Operational levels within the DoD, Air Force or other military Branch

Prior acquisition experience within government or civilian section as a program manager or
involved with contractual decisions, execution, and/or implementation.

Vast experience with nuclear surety, inspections, security operations, and weapon system testing
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Prior military officer experience at the strategic, operational and tactical levels

Previous experience briefing USG or Military Senior Leaders

Vast experience with ICBM maintenance, operations, and security TTPs

Expert knowledge on PRP and PRAP process and procedures

Extraordinary conflict resolution methods and techniques

Logistics operations knowledge in supporting major government acquisition programs.

Prior contracting and military construction experience relating to cost and schedule.

Program Management Professional (PMP) certification complete or in-work is a plus

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120000 - $204000

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
