Job Description Apply to BAE Systems today! We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Human Resources professional to be the lead HR support for the site based in Minneapolis, MN. This role reports to the HR Manager and requires a hybrid work schedule onsite at the Minneapolis, MN location. Our ideal candidate will be skilled in quickly building strong partnerships with business leaders, managing employee engagement and retention, employee development, performance management, coaching and training, recognition and rewards, and employee relations. Job responsibilities includes:
- Develop and manage strategic relationship with functional leaders and MN senior leadership team.
- Provide proactive employee relations, manager coaching, and partner with assigned managers to create a culture that supports business growth and alignment.
- Collaborate with the Centers of Expertise (COEs) and all elements of the HR delivery model to ensure the delivery of world class HR services and programs.
- Responsible for and/or serves as a HR liaison for the following areas:
- Succession planning, talent management, employee engagement and development, employee relations, compensation, EEO, performance management, coaching, and training
- Partner with assigned managers and matrixed HR team to identify top talent and succession candidates and provide support to the Talent Review planning process.
- Support business activities that support a culture that is diverse and inclusive.
- Act as a change agent for key HR and business changes and provide project management for assigned key HR projects.
- Act as resource to employees when needed, providing guidance on and interpreting company policy as well as assuring that employee perspectives are heard and considered.
- Support the mitigation of human capital related business risks and compliance activities.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirement related to day-to-day management of employee and HR compliance.
- Proactively identify and assess potential legal risks and act to ensure compliance. Partner with Legal and Ethics Departments as needed.
- Act as point-of-contact for guidance on compensation actions, including individual promotions, equity adjustments and related actions. Identify business case for position or job group compensation changes, and incentive compensation changes.
- Track and analyze metrics on employee actions, terminations, and voluntary attrition to recommend actions as needed.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree and six (6+) years of progressive HR Business Partner experience;
- Demonstrated experience in providing hands-on HR support, for a dispersed employee population;
- Candidates must demonstrate an ability to apply critical thinking and exercise tact and diplomacy and the ability to communicate persuasively;
- The successful candidate must be comfortable working with all levels of employees, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and possess a sense of urgency to close on actions;
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, perform in a high volume environment and work with multiple priorities;
- Strong employee relations background;
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and industry related software (i.e. Peoplesoft, Oracle);
- Ability to prepare appropriate reports, documents, and presentations;
- Able to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;
- Experience training and coaching;
- Able to support a hybrid work schedule with on-site presence of ~2-3 days a week.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Masters degree in Human Resources
- SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification
- Experience supporting an engineering customer
- Experience working in a matrix environment
- Strong problem solving skills
- Experience working within shared services HR delivery model; project management capability
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
