Job Description The opportunity
Join BAE Systems' Air & Space Force Solutions and be part of a diverse and enthusiastic team who solves some of the world's most complex technical challenges. Contributing day-to-day for the small, Hill Air Force Base, BAE team is refreshing, and the flexibility in the work week is unmatched. For the third consecutive year, BAE was named among the Salt Lake Tribune's 2020 "Top Workplaces," by its employees, earning special distinction for providing a healthy work-life balance for our valued employees. We work very hard to ensure this is a great place to work!

There is never a dull moment on this strategic effort, a cornerstone for the nation’s security! The Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program will replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), the first of its kind in over 50 years. The MMIII missile fleet was fielded in the 1970s and some of components date back to the 1960s. This program is considered a “mega-project” and one of the most complex in the history of the Department of Defense. The new GBSD weapon system acquisition effort brings the newest digital engineering tools and Model Based System Engineer (MBSE) practices to meet existing warfighter requirements, while having the adaptability and flexibility to affordably address changing technology and threat environments through 2075.

The role
BAE is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer accountable to the GBSD Support Systems Program Manager for all tasks assigned; you will be part of a tight-knit team charged with supporting the acquisition and development of GBSD Support Systems. Specifically, as a member of the Training Systems Branch, you will be in a group that is responsible for Training Devices (Simulators), their associated support equipment and networks. Day-to-day, the Electrical Engineer’s opportunities can include planning, organizing, and reviewing technical activities relating to the design, development, fabrication, installation, modification, and/or analysis of systems or systems components. You will support the team using best practices within the realm of agile techniques, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and supporting Program Managers in their understanding of technical requirements.

Who you are
As a Support Systems Division Electrical Engineer, you must have a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. You must possess high energy and be comfortable working with changing priorities. A sample of traits that make up you:

  • You are a collaborator and love working with a team and receive input from others
  • You constantly ask questions and love learning
  • You are customer-oriented and always try to anticipate customer’s needs and work to exceed their expectations
  • You are detail-oriented and live for details
  • You are team-oriented and are more interested in getting the job done right than who gets the credit
