Job Description BAE Systems in Fort Walton Beach, Florida is seeking a Functional Support Specialist I to support the Sensors & Electronics Solutions team.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job. Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.)
- Represents organizational unit on administrative matters
- Recommends, interprets, and/or implements company and internal administrative policies and procedures. Performs as a generalist a combination of administrative tasks and will assist in the development of financial proposal packages and tracking of all SES Business Unit RFP and RFQs
- Responsible for supporting financial data to facilitate the preparation of proposals prior to pricing by the pricing department
- Provide data in support of the contract negotiation process
- Provide WBS sorted labor hours and material budgets for awarded contracts from the proposal data Responsible for tracking and driving the proposal process across I&LE functional leaders to support customer due dates
- Perform proposal activities including the development of spreadsheets and data for pricing
- Preparing Basis of Estimates based on inputs from SMEs and Proposal Management
- Providing data for risk assessments
- Ensuring compliance with the solicitation requirements by maintaining compliance matrix made from solicitation requirements and communicating those requirements to Proposal Management and SMEs as required
- Compiles cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications
- Develops project schedules for proposal delivery and notional project milestones
- Researches and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support proposal efforts.
- Coordinates proposal activities between program management, engineering, logistics, procurement, subcontracts, and contracts departments
- Supports new business development activities and participates in proposal development support by obtaining quotes, building BOEs (Basis of Estimates), and coordinating with functional support leads
- Develop proposal tasks and schedule timelines
- Coordinates, manages, and creates customer required weekly proposal status report
- Reviews proposal and pricing activities under direction from the program or capture manager
- Develops proposal packages and formats submissions for delivery
- Leads or participates in process improvement efforts to improve proposal lead times and quality of inputs
- Participates in fact-finding with the US Government Customer
- Estimates Bid and Proposal budgets and tracks expenditures
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Associates degree and 2 years of related experience or a High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of related experience
- Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task, managing support duties among multiple projects concurrently
- Able to work with minimal supervision; highly motivated individual with an ability to work on own initiative
- Self-starter who possesses the skills to identify problems and resolve them unilaterally
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, capturing information, prioritizing tasks, and organizing effectively
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Previous experience with government proposals and contracting, specifically cost-type contracts and/or indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contracts (IDIQs) is desired
Required Software/IT skills:
- Superior skills in Microsoft Excel; Above average skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project, and Adobe Acrobat

- Knowledge of CostPoint or similar ERP/cost reporting system

Full-Time Salary Range: $43920 - $74700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
