Job Description The BAE Systems finance organization is a trusted business partner delivering information and innovative solutions for decision-making in order to deliver quality products and capabilities to our customers and ultimately, the warfighter. BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems Finance is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join the Future Tech Works product line. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate program financial analysis for all programs within the assigned program area. This includes external & internal reporting, proposal support, leading program Estimates at Complete (EACs), managing cash flow, supporting quarterly business reviews, and leading the Integrated Business Plan for assigned programs. The candidate will also be responsible for providing program controls/EVMS support to their assigned program area. This individual will develop relationships as a full business partner with the program teams, support the business area strategy and provide financial data and analysis for decision-making.
Typical responsibilities include:

  • Supporting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements both internally and externally
  • Reporting & presenting financials to management
  • Serving as a full business partner to the program teams
  • Working with the contracts department for funding, billings, and other contractual items
  • Developing and monitoring program risks and opportunities
  • Developing financial forecasts and analyzing estimates at completion
  • Oversee the work, resources, and dollars using program controls tools drawing from advanced understanding of program management methodology, program control principles, and hands-on experience with planning and cost processing software.
  • Interface with other Finance Analysts in the development of templates, serving as a planning and cost processing tool expert, and advising program managers on the trends and progress of their plans and schedules.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Computer competency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Problem solving and in depth research and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills used to interface with program management, financial analysts and the customer
  • Ability to perform under minimal direct guidance and achieve job objectives with a significant degree of independence
  • Earned Value Management tools and concepts of at least 4 years of relevant experience related to baselining, and performance change management.
  • Expertise in understanding and using Earned Value Management concepts and processes.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience in Financial tool sets Oracle, Hyperion Planner, and OBIEE
  • Experience in EVMS tool sets COBRA and PM Compass
  • Experience in Implementing EVMS Systems
  • Experience leading Integrated Baseline Reviews
  • Demonstrated ability to support program managers and their control account managers with the use and maintenance of program controls systems and outputs
  • Experience leading groups and teams on large programs in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in directing, training, and mentoring junior staff in program controls systems and tools
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, including working in a semi-structured environment with the skill to develop and implement new processes and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Familiarity with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations, ANSI-748-C, EVMIG, and NDIA Intent Guides
  • Program Controls/Program Management certification(s) are desirable
