Job Description A day in the life of a Field Service Engineer consists of traveling to nearby facilities and collecting predictive maintenance data from facility equipment and cranes using advanced hand held data collection tools. The engineer returns to the office and uses specialized software to analyze the collected data to help determine the condition of the equipment tested. The engineer writes a formal report based on the outcome of the analysis, and provides recommendations to the customer. The following day may be an entirely different tasking, requiring the engineer to gather, research and develop information for an ad-hoc report, or conduct a visual inspection of a building and report findings to the customer. The engineer will maintain and follow procedural documentation that meets corporate standards.
BAE Systems in Silverdale, WA is seeking a full-time, Field Service Engineer to provide Facility Maintenance support to our customer, at Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific, Bangor, WA.
There is no relocation assistance available for this position. If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Typical education and years of related/relevant work experience required: High School Diploma/GED and at least 8 years of related/relevant work experience OR an Associate's Degree and at least 6 years of related/relevant work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of related/relevant work experience OR Master's Degree and at least 2 years of related/relevant work experience.
Additional skills/experience required:
Routinely interface with the customer
Develop and cultivate a positive working relationship with the customer and co-workers
Gather, interpret and execute customer requirements
Utilize Microsoft applications such as Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint to track data and create reports
Cannot be afraid of heights, must use ladders and catwalks
Understand electrical and mechanical systems, and maintenance principles
Must be able to read and interpret building plans and technical specifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
Security clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Highly desired, but not required:
