Job Description BAE Systems’ is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Planner to support its Elgin, Oklahoma site. Working under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, the Planner will be responsible for planning daily facilities maintenance work, project work (renovations, equipment lay-outs, upgrades, etc.), and development of preventative facilities maintenance documentation. This role will liaison and collaborate with other departments, vendors, and clients throughout changing and evolving workplace needs. Assists with coordinating service requests with vendors, coordinating employee moves, furniture reconfigurations, and maintaining a floor plan database. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.

This role is responsible for and will:

  • Ensure proper functioning of facilities, including heating/cooling, and office equipment through ongoing inspection and maintenance.
  • Develop preventative facilities maintenance documentation adding pictures, documents, and verbiage to enhance overall performance and safety.
  • Obtain quotes and arrange the repair of inoperative equipment by contacting appropriate companies and overseeing repairs.
  • Make recommendations for vendor products and services.
  • Monitor and maintain the facility work order system.
  • Develop implementation schedules to minimize production/operation delays or lost time for maintenance and/or subcontractor activities.
  • Assist in the planning of equipment layout, installation, and contractor/maintenance requirements to implement facility changes.
  • Review potential work sites in advance to ensure a plan is in place and materials are available to maximize resource utilization.
  • Develop a scope of work (SOW) to include material lists, safety requirements, and drawings for individual work orders.
  • Issue purchase requisitions and obtain and track purchase orders (POs).
  • Help ensure optimal utilization of the facility and its assets by assessing and evaluating the physical space requirements.
  • Utilize Computer Aided Layout (CAD) and planning systems to develop and maintain a library of symbols, layouts, and details.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, federal, state, local, and insurance requirements and regulations during project activities.
  • Coordinate with Safety and other departments to ensure and audit ergonomic best practices are facilitated and followed.
  • Travel with Facilities Manager to other sites or vendors as needed.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years related work experience, or the overall equivalent experience.
  • Possess a sound understanding of facilities theories and practices;
  • Basic understanding of preventative maintenance and asset management;
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and spoken English;
  • Must be knowledgeable with the “Skilled Trades” to include plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structures;
  • Conversant on typical construction blueprint reading in architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems;
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail;
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project), industry specific software, and AutoCAD.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred but not required:

  • Bachelor degree specifically in Facilities Management;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD;
  • BMS knowledge;
  • Experience with Oracle;
  • DoD background.
