Job Description Are you passionate about HR and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join BAE, supporting the HRBP function within our Enterprise Shared Services organization out of our Falls Church, Virginia office.
As part of BAE System’s nationwide internship and co-op program, LEAP, you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress your career through networking with BAE employees, participating in key business projects, gaining expertise from senior leaders through program exclusive information sessions, and building real-life work experiences with your fellow program participants.
LEAP is a summer program, typically starting in late May through August. Internships and Co-Ops may be shortened or extended at the discretion of the company. Internships are paid on an hourly basis and no benefits are provided as a part of this internship program.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with HR leaders and contribute to impactful projects across various teams in areas such as performance management, talent development, hiring, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. As an HR intern, you will gain hands-on experience within the HRBP function, exposure to real-world HR challenges and innovative solutions, mentorship from experienced HR professionals, and opportunities to develop and refine your skills in areas such as problem-solving, communication, and data analysis.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to assist in driving talent strategies, employee engagement, and organizational development initiatives.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Actively participate in LEAP, BAE’s company-wide internship program.
- Provide administrative support for employee relations activities, including notetaking during meetings and preparing follow-up documentation.
- Assist HRBPs with performance management, career development, and succession planning activities.
- Partner with teams such as Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and Compensation to deliver HR solutions.
- Contribute to the execution of HR projects, such as workforce planning, diversity and inclusion programs, and culture initiatives.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Prospective Junior or Senior during the 2025-2026 academic year
- A strong passion for HR and enthusiasm for supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Comfortable with data analysis and reporting tools (Excel proficiency is a plus).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Thrive in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Organized and thorough, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Previous HR related internship experience or coursework
- Completed at least two years of an undergraduate degree
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $42570 - $57420
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
