Job Description BAE Systems is seeking Senior Principle Systems Engineer/Enterprise Technical Team Lead to join our team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (DoD HPCMP) located in the National Capital Region (NCR). The successful candidate will assist the overall contractor lead and is responsible for the performance of the technical work supporting the HPCMP contract and provide oversight of five regional HPC centers. This position represents our company in joint technical meetings with the customer on full range of HPC topics.
This role ensures all technical requirements of HPCMP Cross Center initiatives are being met; serves as the primary point-of-contact for the government Technical Director, and work in tandem to ensure the successful operations of the HPCMP; anticipates future requirements and provides feedback and recommendations as needed; maintains cognizance of all HPCMP and DSRC technical activities to prevent communication gaps; provides technical oversight to all Cross Center projects performed at the HPCMP and as appropriate at DSRC(s), negotiating and adjusting resources as needed with the site leads; performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for all systems supporting HPCMP; conducts analysis at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal; ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions; translates customer requirements into hardware/software specifications; ensures that the technical staff is meeting all skill level requirements and may provide direct people-management as requiredRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years’ working experience, or equivalent experience. May substitute equivalent experience, training and/or certifications for the degree
- 6+ years’ experience with HPC systems
- Breadth of experience with various HPC technical systems including at least several of: Cray, SGI, HPE, Dell HPC systems; HPC networking systems like Infiniband, Ares, and Slingshot; GPGPU computing modules; Lustre, GPFS, or Spectrum Scale file systems; Altair or ScaleMD job management systems; cluster manager software; RHEL, Suse, or CLE Linux
- Specific prior experience leading technical personnel
