In this role, the Electronic Repair Maintenance Person is typically tasked to:
- Troubleshoot and repair robotics, CNC and PLC, controlled equipment. Use working knowledge of all types and sizes of AC and DC motors, transformers, rectifiers, electronic controls for CNC machining centers, and production equipment.
- Respond to down production equipment and repair in an expedient manner.
- Follow safe working standards and actively engage in a safe working culture. Perform LOTO.
- Perform electronic repairs, maintenance, inspection, testing, dismantling, and installing of site production equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on production equipment (i.e., CNC, welders, positioners, lathes, and mills).
- Perform maintenance duties on the plant production equipment, Infrastructure, and office buildings.
- Install electrical wiring, electrical heating units, motor and machinery controls, power and lighting transformers.
- Make electrical adjustments and repairs to plant equipment such as CNC, welding machines, cranes, positioners, lathe & mills.
- Receive and work from instructions and work orders from Maintenance Supervisor, Planner, or Self Directed Work Team.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, drawings, sketches, and work orders to determine isolation of electrical circuits to minimize interruptions of production during repair or installation to operations.
- Perform installations of services to code.
- Determine, obtain, and transport necessary tools, materials and equipment using mobile lifts or trucks as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production equipment issues at root cause level on positioners, electrical tools, building's electrical circuits, cranes, CNC, etc.
- Follow manufacturing best practice (i.e. 5S) including returning to designated areas all tools, materials, and equipment not in use.
- As needed, use computers or data acquisition devices (i.e. bar-code).
- Identify required materials for electrical installations and repairs.
- Provide support to the 3rd Shift.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills This job is required to operate in a manufacturing environment, where use of respiratory protection may be required. Individuals required to wear respiratory protection must achieve medical approval and pass fit testing.
- Completion of a state certified apprenticeship program in relevant field; electronic repair, or electrical with demonstrated electronic training, OR Associates Degree in relevant technical field with demonstrated electronic training plus 3 years industrial experience in electronic repair position.
- Ability to read schematics and trouble shoot CNC controls, OR 5 years documented experience in industrial electronic repair position trouble shooting CNC machining centers, servo-drives, machine control circuits, PLCs.
- Able to support on the 3rd Shift.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Journeyman's card.
- 5 plus years of experience trouble shooting, maintaining, and repairing CNC and robotic equipment.
- Technology Degree in Electronics or Controls.
Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
