Job Description BAE Systems is hiring a Director of Marketing & Media to support our Platforms and Services (P&S) Sector. The Director will be responsible for leading a team of Marketing and Media Relations experts through the execution of the P&S comprehensive marketing strategy. The Director will develop, execute, and lead a strategy that cuts through the noise, brings bold and innovative ideas, and proves it reaches business goals through measurement. This includes building and maintaining our brand, supporting business development and growth through effective marketing campaigns and programs, and engaging global stakeholders in a local and relevant way. The Marketing & Media Director will have a deep understanding of the Defense industry and Marketing principles to develop talent and mature the team’s capabilities. A proven track record of success will drive business growth through communications initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to market and promote the company’s expertise in global military platforms and services in alignment with the company's brand and the sector’s business objectives.
- Lead a team of experts to deliver cutting edge content across the marketing, creative, digital, social, media, and exhibitions disciplines.
- Manage the content and coordination approval process for the sector in conjunction with colleagues across the business to ensure our content strengthens the overall brand.
- Influence enterprise-level decisions with expert communications knowledge of audiences, policies, strategies, and objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and mentor and guide your team to make data-based decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Government Relations, and Communications to ensure alignment and maximize marketing impact.
- Manage and optimize the marketing budget to achieve maximum ROI.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry partners, media, and influencers.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging marketing technologies.
- Measure and report on marketing performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Set clear expectations and goals to achieve business results by directing others.
- Teach, mentor, and coach both direct and indirect reports to ensure continued development across the communications team.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in Marketing and Media Management
- Experience in Marketing Metrics and Data Analysis
- Proven track record of success in driving business growth through marketing initiatives
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, including brand management, lead generation, and campaign execution
- Strong understanding of media relations, social media, digital media, and exhibitions
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and other marketing technologies
- Demonstrated performance in leading a team and providing mentorship and coaching to direct and indirect reports
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to weigh competing priorities or solutions in problem solving and identify and implement solutions at the enterprise level
- Ability to develop and set communications processes, procedures, and/or policies for area of expertise and ensure compliance
- Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong writing and editing skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Advanced Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Certification in Marketing, such as a Certified Marketing Professional (CMP) or a similar designation
- Demonstrated expertise in both Media Relations and Marketing
- Experience with Defense industry-specific marketing challenges and opportunities
- Knowledge of government contracting and procurement processes
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Experience with team management and leadership
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
