BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair has one full-time Contract Administrator II position available to support in the successful execution of awarded Cost-Plus and Fixed Price contracts.
Successful candidate will assist in execution of moderately complex contracts in accordance with contracted terms and conditions, FAR/DFAR as well as company's policies and procedures. This candidate will:
Work with the Contracts team to assist with drafting and negotiating simple contractual instruments, commensurate with skills and grade level.
Assist with contract review, approval and execution in accordance with corporate and/or business unit guidelines.
When and as directed, prepare and administer routine correspondence, help document negotiation memoranda and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittals.
Organize and maintain contract records and files that document contract performance and compliance. May conduct research to support contract audit and or facilitate business unit contracting trends.
Review solicitations and help prepare routine responses for proposals, bids, and contract modifications. May also prepare simple requests for proposals.
Prepare documents to support the team’s negotiation of contract changes and modifications with customer.
Assist the team in preparing and analyzing moderately complex price proposals, become adept at reviewing financial reports and other data to determine reasonableness of prices, and/or terms and conditions.
Perform other related duties assigned.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 2 years administrative, contracts or finance work experience or 6 years relevant industrial repair experience. Ship repair industry experience is a huge plus.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to understand new tasks quickly;
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously;
Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision;
Ability to work calmly under pressure;
Proficient with Excel; strong computer and database experience.
