BAE Systems is hiring a Configuration Management Program Lead to support our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business. As part of our team, you'll help manage changes to the design of a large-scale leading-edge defense program.
Location/Travel/Schedule:
- This role can be based out of Minneapolis, MN or Sterling Heights, MI
- This is a Hybrid position where you will work onsite 3 days a week and remote 2 days a week on average
- This position will involve 10% travel domestically and may require more travel if based in Minneapolis, MN
- The role will work a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off, based on business needs
Responsibilities:
- Lead Configuration Management activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems in a defense environment, meeting technical, cost, and schedule objectives
- Develop, maintain, and execute Configuration Management Plans
- Execute Engineering Bill of Material management solutions
- Plan and manage bid and proposal efforts with leadership guidance
- Communicate staffing needs to leadership
- Manage change against baselines for product data in the Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) tool, generate CSA reports, and mentor others in the use of the CSA tool
- Host Configuration Control Board meetings
- Monitor Data Management activities including Subcontractor Data Requirements List (SDRL) and CDRL (Contractor Data Requirements List) deliveries to customers including Technical Data Packages (TDP)
- Ensure proper program application of Configuration Management processes and use of the product data management tool (PDM)
- Perform Configuration Audits
- Ensure subcontractor compliance to contracts including delivery of SDRLs and TDP elements
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of work experience to include configuration management or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in Configuration Management Systems like Product Data Management (PDM)
- Knowledge of Configuration Management Standards, including industry CM standard EIA-649 and/or military standards MIL-HDBK-61/MIL-STD-31000
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office suite to prepare appropriate analytics, metrics, documents, and reports
- Able to effectively collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Engineering, and Program Management
- Able to make decisions in ambiguous situations
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Great attention to detail, time management and organization skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- NDIA / CMPIC / IPX Configuration Data Management (CDM) Certification
- Experience in Defense
- Experience reviewing defense contracts for Configuration and Data Management requirements
- Experience in Design Engineering Standards, including ASME Y14.100
- Experience managing Bills of Material (BOM)
- Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas
- Able to conduct research
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
