Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team of professionals as a Cyber System Administrator/Field Service Engineer. The qualified candidate will be working with the field engineering team to support and maintain Compass Call delivered mission systems and mission support systems at Davis Monthan AFB, AZ. The candidate will serve as a System Administrator for systems operated in support of the Compass Call program, including for operations, maintenance, training, and testing. The candidate will have detailed knowledge and expertise of the Information systems and provide day-to-day operations support.

Additional knowledge, skills and abilities may include the following:

  • The Systems Administrator will provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • This role will act as a key stakeholder in meeting program milestones by integrating technical, schedule, and resource requirements with interactions with internal and external users such as functional / government / customer entities and vendors, including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Configure, manage, maintain and operate Windows and Linux environments for fixed installations and on airborne platforms.
  • Configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Create and modify user accounts, active directory, associated access control lists and systems administration support.
  • Install, load, configure, troubleshoots, operating system software, maintains integrity and configures network components and maintain workstation and server hardware and software.
  • Install software, patches, updates, and or similar updates.
  • Install and configure security-relevant software and perform security related compliance documentation.
  • Implement and troubleshoot technical security controls.
  • Maintain and operate network infrastructure, including switches, routers and network encryption devices.
  • Updating anti-virus software and definitions.
  • Communicate directly with customers to define required tools and resources, investigate new procedures, and / or identify and resolve Information Technology issues.
  • Handling and managing Communications Security (COMSEC) and classified systems material.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide help desk and escalation problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Perform data backups of information systems.
  • Participating in security incident response, recovery processes, and assisting in system backups.
  • Perform and maintain system inventories (hardware and software) in conjunction with the cyber unit.
  • Prioritize and fulfill a variety of Information Technology requests.
  • Supporting security test and evaluation (ST&E) events to achieve authorization milestones.
  • Work in team environments and collaborate across multiple IT disciplines.
  • Business travel to customer locations in support of product demonstrations, software installation, and system testing.
  • Attend required technical and security training (e.g. OS, networking, security management) that is relative to assigned duties.
  • Must be willing to deploy in support of the customer, CONUS and OCONUS for up to 90 consecutive days.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

Full Time Onsite Work Requirement. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at the Davis Monthan AFB Tucson AZ contractor facility 100% of the time.

Candidate may be required at times to rotationally support 1st, 2nd or 3rd or weekend shifts, to support site OPTEMPO.

Deployment events will range from one to twelve consecutive weeks at a time and will be travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations. OCONUS travel may include deployment into a hazardous environment.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Active DoD TOP SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI security clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • Experience with system patching, STIG hardening and testing of remediation efforts
  • Experience with network infrastructure (switches and routers)
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience in systems administration and cybersecurity operations and training
  • Motivated self-starter with good problem-solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability
  • Skilled in planning and organization of tasks, procedures, and processes



Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70735 - $120250

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
