The Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO)/Alternate Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO) position will work under the guidance and direction of the Security Manager. The assignments of the AFSO/ACPSO are focused on supporting the administration of a robust security program for several projects in a dynamic environment.
- Support the Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), performing a wide variety of duties to assist in the implementation and maintenance of a complete industrial security program including alarm response, area control, container access, badge and lock control, incident investigation, classification management, classified hardware control, and plant protection as required by the Department of Defense under the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other government agencies.
- Support the implementation of all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on DoD 5205.07 SAP Manual and exhibit the dedication and expectation of a skilled security professional while working under the direct supervision of the Security Manager.
- The AFSO/ACPSO works as a team player, exhibits flexibility, manages priorities, and meets customer expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Interact with internal and external customers and Government security officials in performance of security duties.
- Perform physical security, information security, security education and awareness, document & media control, personnel security, data transfers, visitor control; maintain security files, handle & processing classified documents, and other security support activities as assigned.
- Perform all duties in accordance with DoD, UL 2050 and NISPOM requirements.
- Responsible for checking emergency exits, patrolling the interior and exterior of the campus. In charge of area and container access; briefing personnel of their responsibilities for having access to containers and closed areas, maintaining access rosters, lock control and conducting audits of both areas and containers.
- Responsible for writing and reviewing incident reports. Investigates security violations and prepares comprehensive reports for submission to the FSO/CPSO for review and necessary action. Must learn the visitor control process to include badging of personnel/visitors, escorting and conducting bag checks.
- Create and modify badge accounts. Monitors key control.
- Support other security related tasks as assigned by the Security Manager.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Active Secret Clearance (within a 5 year scope)
- Demonstrate understanding of the ICDs & DoD SAP Manuals
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of the U.S. Government security standards
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- 2 or more years of related experience
- National Industrial Security Program (NISP) experience
- Must be able to multitask
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills, and adapt seamlessly to an ever-changing security environment
- Customer focused, excellent communicator (written and verbal), and ability to work with limited supervision
- Strong organizational skills and experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Top Secret security clearance eligibility, with ability to obtain SCI and other special accesses

- Top Secret clearance
- Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions
- Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, ability to communicate effectively, and be able to perform in a multi-tasked, dynamic environment
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $66084 - $112343
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
