Job Description LEAP Affiliation:
In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.
Position Title: Accounting and Finance Intern, Summer 2025 (graduating between Dec 2025 and Summer 2026)
Location: This role will be performed in a hybrid remote format (partially on-site, partially remote) at one of our greater DC-Metro locations: Sterling, VA; Rockville, MD.
Purpose:
BAE Systems Intelligence and Security (I&S) sector supports critical national security missions that protect our nation and those who serve.
I&S is seeking Finance Interns who will work within finance and accounting functions such as: Process Review, General Ledger, Project Setup, Closeout, and other sub-functions. The I&S Internship Program offers on-the-job training as well as:
Competitive Pay: Earn a competitive hourly wage, working full-time (Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week) through the run of the program (early June through August).
Opportunity for Future Employment: I&S Finance and Accounting interns will also receive information and contacts to apply for our Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP). Many BAE Systems interns are hired on full-time after completing their degree.
Challenging & Meaningful Work: Your work will be challenging and impactful with on-the-job training and the opportunity to complete a summer project.
Networking and Development Opportunities: You will have the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships as you participate in workshops, mentor programs, presentations with senior leaders, community involvement, and other networking and development events.
Responsibilities may include:
•Perform financial analysis
•Develop approaches and solutions to support financial activities
•Work within and across teams to accomplish goals
•Lead and/or support special projects
Required Education, Experience, & Skills •You must be completing your Bachelor’s Degree program at an accredited university between December 2025 and Summer 2026
•Ability to work for at least 10 weeks during the summer
•Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $43847 - $59143
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
